The picturesque Raamgracht is located in the centre of Amsterdam and runs from Kloveniersburgwal to Zwanenburgwal. This part of the city was annexed in 1593. Cloth weaving mills were located here, fabrics were stretched on wooden windows to dry – hence the name Raamgracht.
