On the 6th of September we hosted our Japanese Indigo workshop right next to our dyegarden at Marineterrein. Participants could get an introduction to natural dyeing practices, possibilities and the aim of the local color project. Then put the new insights right into action by trying out various techniques to print and colour textiles using fresh indigo leaves. We were delighted to see so many participants being able to bring their Japanese Indigo plants, grown from the seed bombs we gave out at the last Green-market and all the beautifully blue designs everyone created.
We created beautiful indigo colors using the following methods:
- Hammerprinting
- Ice cold smoothie
- Saltmassage
